(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Some 2,000 university students and representatives of scientific, cultural, political, revolutionary, and unionist varsity organs met Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameneie Wednesday evening. The leader of the Islamic Revolution in the meeting elaborated on deviations of the world revolutions, elaborated on meaning of stability and fixation period of the Islamic Revolution reiterating, “The great revolution of the Iranian nation took shape with specified objectives and as an exception in history, it is still pursuing the same objectives and values, without any deviation.” According to the Supreme Leader’s information website, his eminence referred to the revolutions’ Islamic nature, opposing oppression, safeguarding the country’s independence, respecting the dignity of the human beings, defending the oppressed peoples, and comprehensive advancement and development of Iran as the major objectives of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, emphasizing that the Islamic Revolution relies on piety, beliefs, incentives, and the sentiments of the people. He added, “This straight and bright path is continuing 32 years on, without any deviation, and this highly fresh reality is the real meaning of the stability and fixation of the revolution.” His eminence noted that the Iranian nation has displayed its resolute will in keeping its covenant with its Nurturer, reiterating, “This praiseworthy resistance is a heritage of the past generation for the present generation, so that the jubilant and truthful young students, who have not seen the era of the victory of the revolution and the time of Imam Khomeini (P), speaks of the same ideals and demands at this meeting that the first generation of the revolution believed in.” His eminence considered the demands and comments of the present day university students of the country as “more precise and technical” than the former generation, adding, “the sentiments of the present day youth are the same as the sentiments of the young generation of the revolution, but they are more rational, and this is a very precious matter.’ Ayatollah Khameneie elaborated on the perfectionist trend of the revolution during the past 32 years of its existence, arguing that this safeguarding blessed trend that grants wellbeing and perfection, is mainly the duty of the young university students. He added, “The youth and students today are the officials and decision makers of the country tomorrow, and they are responsible for continuing and perfecting this path, and delivering it to the future generations.” The leader said, “They must prove the fact that for the fist time in the history of the various revolutions of the world, the Islamic Revolution has maintained the very same arguments, ideals, and values of its first days continually and ceaselessly up to now, and would God willing achieve its ultimate goals, as well.” His eminence considered incentives, will, bravery and power of thinking of the present day generation as the guarantee for the continuation of the revolution, and said addressing them, “The country that has reached this stage mightily and perseveringly and manage to become an ideal model for the Islamic societies, is putting the important historic duty of continuing this path on the shoulders of you jubilant and determined generation today.” Providing evidence for the stability and independence of the Islamic Revolution and the deviation of the other revolutions during the past few centuries, and their eventual fate, his eminence said, “The Great Revolution of France was a sample of the major world popular revolutions that took shape against the imperial system of the time, but it deviated from its initial objectives gradually and eventually, after suffering great pains, the imperialist system took charge in France again.” Ayatollah Khameneie referred to the independence of the United States and the establishment of that country as another example of the popular movements that throughout the long years deviated form its original goals and got entangled in endless internal and external wars. His eminence added, “The Soviet Revolution is another sample that had ideological foundations, but that revolution as of the first years deviated from its initial objectives rapidly and the people were eliminated from the political equations and the objectives of the revolution.” The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that some semi-revolutions in late 50s and early 60s in north African and Latin American countries are other examples of deviation of revolutions from their initial revolutionary goals, reiterating, “The Islamic Revolution has been an exception throughout the past few hundred years, because it has managed to pursue its initial objectives and fundamental evermore joyously and solidly.” Ayatollah Khameneie then offered some advice to the students, including not ignoring the enemies of the revolution, that act in a group, dividing responsibilities, and pursuing a general scheme, adding, “If this fact would be thoroughly comprehended by the university organizations it would assist them greatly in pursuing their revolutionary duties.” The leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to assassination of martyrs Ali-Mohammadi and Shahriari as an example of the team work of the enemies, adding, “If this matter would be viewed from a security point of the view it would be a cause for sorrow for us, as we have lost some dear personalities, but if the terrorists acts would be viewed from team work jobs, it would be made clear that the enemy has had more important complementary objectives.” The leader of the revolution said that the enemy views the matter very wisely and therefore is support for some movements indie the country and its interference is some internal matters become very meaningful. Ayatollah Khameneie said that one of the policies of the global oppression is promoting the corrupt activities in the society among the youth, and therefore, this plan of the enemy must be wisely countered. He agreed with some criticisms of the university students from the various organs of the country, arguing, “Of course, in implementation of the ideals and wishes, problems and various obstacles emerge, which should be kept in mind when we judge.” In response to a student, his eminence evaluated the movements and activities of concerned organs regarding the ongoing regional issues and developments as “very good”, adding, “Expressing the students’ viewpoints in this respect would contribute greatly to enriching the process of the work.” Appreciating the wise and precise comments of a student about the human sciences, he said, “Thoughts and mentalities have been the origin of developments for nations throughout history and sensitivity about the human sciences, too, takes roots from this reality.” His eminence ruled out imitation from the western human sciences, emphasizing, “The foundations of our thoughts differ with the foundations of the materialist thoughts, and therefore imitating the western human sciences cannot be of any help for solving any of our problems.” Ayatollah Khameneie said that it is not beneath our dignity to learn the western, or eastern human sciences and other sciences, on condition that this learning would lead to broadening our knowledge and thinking capability, and we would be able to turn those sciences into our own indigenous sciences, and to reach mastership in them, from being the students of them.” On ambiguity of one student regarding a saying by the Emir of the Pius, Imam Ali (P) on revealing the crimes of the corrupt people and those who take personal advantage of public money, he added, “The Emir’s saying in this regard does not mean revealing the unproved accusations brought up against individuals, and beyond doubt in accordance with Islamic logic, it is definitely not permitted to reveal assumptions against people, merely based on accusations.” His eminence reiterated, “Even in case of the proved crimes, too, save for those cases that an expediency, or a public benefit calls for revelation, Islam does not permit us to announce them publically, because the family members and relatives of the criminals, too, would suffer, having committed no mischief.” On moves made to implement the Constitutional Article 44 (on privatization), too, he added, “Naturally such acts are not perfect and faultless, but in accordance with the officials’ reports, good activities have been pursued in this respect, too.” A student proposed trusting the youth by giving them responsibilities. His eminence liked the idea, but said that prior to accepting responsibilities, the scientific and practical competence must be achieved and the requirements of accepting responsibilities must be recognized.” Regarding frank criticism of students against the performance of various organs, he reiterated, “I wholeheartedly praise such criticisms, while I might be disagreed with some of them, but these comments prove that if the youth wish to accept national responsibilities, they must also be highly prepared for being criticized, since anyone who does something, is naturally asked about his performance in performing that job.” Before the Supreme Leader’s comments eleven students proposed their comments on various issues./129
